My Dear Caroline...

My Dear Caroline,

I cannot even believe I'm a week away from snuggling your sweet little self. The timeline for your arrival seems to be up in the air and kind of chaotic to me, but I know the Lord has the perfect date set for you to make your entrance into our world! Tomorrow I go in for another doctor's appointment where your dad and I will see you sucking on your hand (you LOVE your hand and thumb) and then listen to your heartbeat and movements on the monitor. I love listening to your heart rate go up whenever you start wiggling around... it's cute. You are wearing yourself out in there. Usually after a couple big movements you fall asleep on us and I have to drink water and eat crackers to wake you right back up. Last week your Gram even had to buzz you. You didn't appreciate that too much :)

Oh girl, your dad is SO excited and anxious to hold you in his arms. He is constantly talking to you, sometimes kind of sternly, to coax you to come out and snuggle him. He means well when he asks with a stern tone, believe me. He's waited nine months to smell your baby scent, hold you, and start our new normal with you. Sometimes he says he says that I may only get to hold you whenever it's time for your feedings because he doesn't ever want to let you out of his arms. He's a good daddy...just the comforter and protector that you'll love.. a lot like our Heavenly daddy.

Your room is all ready for you, too! Your cousin Sam has tried out some of your new gear to break it in :) He slept in your crib a few nights ago and didn't make a peep all night long. I guess that means it's comfy! I have to tell you a secret.... shh... I sat him in your pink Bumbo and tried on some of your bows while Gram was taking a nap. It was just the three of us (You, Sam and I) up in your room. He just looked at me like I was nuts. And if trying on the bows wasn't bad enough, I pulled out some of the shoes I made you to see if they would fit you in a few months.... and they did! Poor little cousin. He did look very cute, though. :) You have Sam Howard's seal of approval!

Boppy cover & name pillow from Anna Joy (The Joy Cottage)

We can't wait to meet you! You have a TON of people asking constantly when you will arrive. This just means they love you already and can't wait to see your sweet face, just like your dad and I!

So come on baby girl! Make your entrance!!

Love,
Mommy

"All Nigggghhht Long.. All Night."

I did it. I slept through the night!
not the most flattering picture-- but this is how I feel right now...Big Momma

Okay, I'm lying... I woke up twice to get a glass of sweet tea at 2 a.m. and then at 4 a.m. and then woke up a few times in between for a pee break.

Whatever. I think it still counts as "sleeping through" when I've gone to bed at 3 a.m and 4 a.m. the last three consecutive nights. I did miss my Martha Stewart date, though.... sorry, Martha. I was busy dreaming about scarfing down some chocolate cake. Pregnancy dreams are the weirdest. I'm sure the cake "ate me" later on. Who knows.

We recently moved in with my parents while Jeremy is in school and working. It has been a humongous blessing, and even more so now that I'm not able to work. My mom is also a high-risk OB nurse, so it has put me/my doctors at ease knowing that she is watching me like a hawk. She's pretty great.

This morning, (since I slept all night.........) I was able to spend some time with this guy. Since we've moved back in, I have been reminded of the steadfastness of my father. I mean look at him. Every morning, he wakes up, reads his Bible, and prays. He prays not only for our family, but all of my siblings spouse's families and all of our friends/their families. Incredible. He's probably prayed for you... even if he hasn't met you yet. I love that.

hello bed rest.

I'm up. It's 2:46 a.m. and I am wide awake.

Hello, bed rest.

Last Thursday, my OB/GYN put me on bedrest at 31 weeks due to high blood pressure. Bummer, right? Then, Friday night I came down with a nasty cold. And now, my days and nights are mixed up. I record all my shows during the day and watch them at night. I think Martha Stewart and I are best friends right now... at least in my mind we are. I see her 3 times a day during her three showings of 'The Martha Stewart Show'. I also catch Cupcake Wars, 19 Kids and Counting and last but not at all least--- Ellen. She's the best.

I also sleep.... A LOT. The little miss has her days & nights mixed up, too, so she's usually snoozing when I am. I'm thankful for that.

Seriously, though, bed rest is no fun, but-- She's SO worth it.

{two weeks ago--29 weeks pregnant with our girl}

Tonight, one of my girlfriends came over and brought me some Panera. I could have kissed her, but I was too busy shoving my face full of mac & cheese and a turkey sandwhich. Sorry, Kayla, I'll kiss you later. She also helped me decide how to hang some of Caroline's wall art in her room. She found the wall stud on the first try... I think that qualifies her as a pro.

Don't you love that print hanging on her wall? You can thank Danielle Burkleo for her design skillz.
